Training for my 1st marathon (Rotto 2006).  Very scary seeing I’m an ex sprinter and anything over 100m is endurance in my opinion. Using the marathon as a stepping stone to my big goal of completing my first ironman at Port Macquarie – April 2007. Progress from turtle to something slightly faster and not be last up Welshpool Road!!

Saturday morning run.  Breaky at Zamia’s is pretty darn good.

What made you get into the sport:

Needed to get into something after giving up ballet (I know…there’s no similarity), and giving up competing in sprints down at the surf club.  I did my first BRW and enjoyed it so took it from there.

To become a hill climbing champ on the bike! To keep up with Gustula at JK’s intervals… to come out the water first in at least one triathlon this season (especially in front of Bulldog, Daddy Croc and King Prawn if I can!) and remain injury free first and foremost!

Thursday morning chicks ride from the Narrows, the one session I will get up for in sub zero temperatures and rain!

What made you get into the sport?

At a friend’s 21st birthday there was a small triathlon crew there who looked pretty fit and in my eternal quest for a six pack stomach, I thought it might be my chance… hahaha Also I enjoyed swimming and running when I was younger and thought cycling looked like a bit of a lark… plus I suppose a single 21 year old girl has to keep her options open and there were a few cute blokes in the sport!

Interests outside of the sport?

Hanging out with Sean, the girls (and a few lucky chaps!), traveling, writing, karaoke, making cupcakes

I use to be alright at all 3 disciplines at school so one of my teachers convinced me to go and try a race. I came 1st and loved it ever since.

What made you get into the sport:

My wife and I were tired of doing Marathons, so when we moved to Sydney in January 2005, we decided to start doing triathlons so we chose Busselton Ironman to be the first one (completely ignorants on the challenge). I had never done more than 50mts in a swimming pool and we had no cycling experience other than the occasional casual ride. I am now the best Mexican training at STC (only one)

Interests outside of the sport:

Compulsive traveller, Classical music and Opera

Anything except rocks, although fine dining with good wines is my true passion, and triathlons are just an excuse to eat without remorse

What made you get into the sport?

My waist size hit 36 inch and the ex pence of 5 new suits was to grim to contemplate for any Scotsman. If only my wallet could have seen the consequences of that day's decision. 5 new suits at 30 inch plus a whole lot of toys, accommodation, travel, entry fees and an addiction to power bars.

Interests outside of the sport?

Recovering in bed with compression tights, attempting romance with the traumatised wife. [She never signed up to this , she tells me. Wait till she returns home to the shaved legs and chest]

Do love a muffin...   with no guilt associated.
Plus anything Jill leaves out for me to destroy after swim training.
